About ZORKA-KERAMIKA

Ceramic tiles for generations

Development of Zorka keramika is based on constant monitoring of technological innovations.

Ceramic tile factory started with production in 1978 with annual capacity of 1.000.000 m2. At that time main product was industrial tile. As part of Alas Holding (ex Zorka Nemetali a.d.), Zorka keramika was privatized on public auction in December 2003. At this moment, Zorka keramika employs 168 people.

Today Zorka keramika is a dependent company of Alas Holding, founded in March 2004. It operates within Alas International group (our mother company in Austria) and is one of the leading producers of ceramic tiles in Serbia. Company Headquarters are in Novi Sad, Jovana Djordjevica 2 Street, and production plant is located in Sabac, Hajduk Veljkova 1 Street.

Zorka keramika is a company specialized in production of floor tiles, monocotura and gres porcellanato which main characteristics are high quality, attractive design,  wide range of products (currently we have to offer more then 60 different types of tiles), nature friendly material, good raw material, modern equipment and technology and ceaseless growth both of production and sale. In February 2005 the third reconstruction in the value of 2 m Euros was performed and capacity was enlarged to 2.000.000 m2 after that we started with production of “gress porcellanato” tile with remarkable technical characteristics. In 2008 new enlargement of production capacity and modernization of production process are to take place. Total value of investment will be round 8,7 m Euros and part of that assets will be used for purchase of two new presses “Sacmi” PH 3020 which have double capacity of the existing ones. Thus, tiles of biggest format (60cm x60cm) could be produced in Zorka keramika. Rest of the money will be used for purchase of new Double Decker two – canal kiln and three glazing lines. What needs to be emphasized is that apart from the above mentioned machines the new machine for dry application of color (TSC, Italy), spray dryer, continuous mill and new packing machine will be installed and till March 2008 two new production halls will be built. Installation of the new equipment will enable us to produce wall tiles and maximal annual production capacity will be round 6.000.000 m2 both floor and wall tiles.

In 2008, apart from the existing assortment, 50 new articles like wall tiles 25x40 cm, floor tiles 45 x 45 cm gress porcellanato and our well known brand, industrial tile KD-01 (100x200x13 mm) which is for a long time highly appreciated in the markets of ex Yugoslavia, will be in our new offer.

Continuity in production is supported by raw material from our own clay pits. Our clay is also used for enriching raw material texture of other producers’  “biscuits”.
